Reparing a toy electric car

This children’s electric car only worked in reverse… Not the most practical to practice lateral parking in front of the school.

After manipulating the normal-reverse selector switch, I noticed that it would work, but only intermittently, if I pressed strongly on it or moved it in a specific way. Everything was pointing to an open circuit.

A few removed screws later, it indeed proved to be the case: the crimp connector of the forward moving cable was too loose and only made contact in some positions. The reparation is very easy: you only need to squeeze the crimp connector more strongly, and the car should (hopefully) work for a few years more!
