Back to the basics with this Uraltone clone kit of a Fender 5E3 (Tweed Deluxe). It has the bare minimum required of an amp: a volume pot per channel and a master tone, brilliantly enhanced with a headroom pot by the Uraltone people, to avoid breaking the neighbours’ windows.
Once again, the cabinet is made of 19mm pine with box joints, but the speaker baffle is now of 9mm plywood, to allow the Jensen P12Q speaker to express itself with all freedom. The result is a strongly growling amp, very raw but very far from muddy, all the strings ring clearly.
