My bandsaw (Kity 612) didn’t have a parallel guide when I bought it secondhand, and having one is so useful that I just had to create my own.
With this custom guide made of aluminium profiles, I can now cut and resaw much more precisely. I also added plywood sides to the aluminium table, to protect it somewhat and also to extend the work surface a little bit.
The guide works very basically, by squeezing the tabletop between the back plywood plate and the front locking lever. The lever pressure can be set with the screw, which leads to a very stable blocking of the guide.
It can also be inverted (front to back) in order to lower the saw head, for example when sawing thinner pieces of wood.
